Art Talent Development

Today at Enrich I started doing a Loch Ness monster. It is looking really cool so far. I have added a snake tongue so that its like a sea serpent. It has spikes so if something jumps on it, the predator will get hurt. It has big scales around its body and it has a big horn so it can fight back if something attacks it. Next I need to add some more paint to make it nice and dark.

Cartooning

Today at Enrich I did cartooning. When we got there it was funny because it had cartoon pictures of the All Blacks there was Brad Thorn, Dan Carter, Richie McCaw,Piri Weepu and Israel Dagg. My favourite picture was Israel Dagg because he had a huge mouth like he was saying YAH! because he was getting a try.We watched a clip of someone drawing himself,  it looked really funny because he had tufts of hair sticking out.We had to draw three faces of different emotions. I really enjoyed it because I love drawing.

2 Stars and a Wish

Firstly my two stars for the term are: I like the way how there are talent devalopments because there are different ones every time. This term I am doing art, it is really fun because we can choose to do clay, a painting or a paper mache. Firstly I started doing a paper mache, it is called Ragkill Armidillo. But now I am doing a painting of the dragon's eye.  My second star is that I like how we have a lot of technical stuff like computers and the ipads. My wish is that we could do more sporty stuff outside like more games.

Art Talent Development

Today at Enrich I did my painting. I started a new one and now it is a dragon's eye. It has big pointy green scales and an oval black bit in it's eye and around it is orange. It was really hard because I needed a smaller and smaller brush and I finally got it and I am just about done. I only need like three days longer and I will be successful. I also am nearly finished rag kill with Isaac. He only needs his yellow spots on his back.

P4C

Today at Enrich I did P4C with Darryn and eight other kids. We were talking about "Is everything possible?"  We got asked 9 questions, like: Is it possible that a genie could appear tomorrow and give you one wish? The answer was yes, but it was highly unlikely to happen. It was really hard because Darryn kept saying why? and that made it confusing!

Art Talent Devalapment

this photo is showing a birds view that is looking down on him.

This is showing that it has spikes that is going down its back a big spike at the front and little ones that follow it down the back.
this is the photo showing that it has marbles for its eyes and it has wire bent to make the teeth look sharp.
Today at Enrich Isaac and I are adding muscles and the toes and claws to "Ragkill". We just added the spikes that run down the back. We are going to add thigh muscles so that it can stand up easier then now. I will now show you some pictures of him.

The Art Trip

Wow! What a trip I just had. You're lucky because now I am going to tell you about it.  Firstly it was an art trip and we went to the museum. We looked at the art that someone did but the group said that a 4 year old could do it. Then we went into the tuatara house. It was fun because we could see a lot of tuataras even Henry was out. Secondly we left the museum and went to the other art gallery. There was a picture that I really liked. Thirdly we came back to Enrich. I was sad because I really liked the trip.

Teacher Comment

Edward.
Well done on a productive term at Enrich.  You have embraced new challenges and pushed yourself to produce an end product with your Science Talent Development.  You have a range of friendships and have shown you can work independently, or as part of a group.  You are always respectful of others and your confidence in your own ability is growing.  Keep up your positive attitude for next term.
Katie.

Indian Chairs

Today I played Indian chairs. Indian chairs is where there are two teams. One team is lined up along the ground - one person kneels one way, the other person kneels the opposite way until everyone is in a spaced out line. The other team lines up ready to run. The team on the ground has a tagger who tries to tag the person from the other team who is running. The running team can run inbetween the other people in the line - the tagger cannot.  The tagger needs to sub with other members of their team to try and catch the runner on the side they are on.  Once the runner has been tagged, the other members of their team have their turn.  You play until everyone has been tagged, then you swap over.  We use a timer to see which team stayed in the longest.

Chess

Today I played chess against Georgia and I won.Firstly I tried to do scholars but it did not work.Secondly I tried to out rank her but that did not work either.Thirdly she used her rook to sneak around to kill my king but I took care of her with my knight.Fourthly I tried to get my pawns to the end but that did not work at all. Then I used my Queen and rook to checkmate her and that one worked, yay! Then guess what... I WON!

Gifted Week

I do not like being gifted at school because everyone expects you to know everything. But I like it at Enrich because everyone is gifted here.Joseph Renzulli said to be gifted you have to have creativity, above average ability and task commitment.

The Email

Today I did an email to Orana park I asked them a lot of questions I asked them questions about Big Cat Adaptations. I asked questions about what the cats favourite food was and a lot more these are all of them:

Science Talent Development

Last week it was the first week for of science for talent development with Darryn.  Jordan, Isabella and I  are the only ones doing it.  We were lucky, we got the digital cameras and went to the museum.  We took photos of the tuaturas because we were taking photos of animals that have adapted.  After that we went to Queens Park and went round all the animals.  We went past the pigs and they stunk!  We all said so.  We got out of there quickly!  We went past the hens and there was a tremendous one!  Then we went past a big stag, it was looking right at us and it looked like it was going to charge at us!  We saw the female deer as well.  We saw some more pigs.  These pigs didn't stink as much.  Then we went to see the birds.  Darryn and I saw a kea that wouldn't come out till we were gone.  We saw birds that couldn't fly and it was not a penguin.  We saw peacocks.  What a day I had.  Bye!

Mental Edge Table

At Enrich we have a Mental Edge table.  It is covered in games that are strategic thinking.  On the mental edge table there is a pyramid you have to make.  It's easy. There is also Pentago and Rushhour and River crossing and Tipover. My favourite game is probably Pentago because I am really good at it.  This is a picture of the mental edge table.

Art (Indian ink)

Art rules because I love painting. I am good it.  I especially love Indian ink because I love drawing and I love putting colour  in it.  My favourite colour is blue and black because I like dark colours.  This is my Indian ink painting that I have done with Darryn.I was trying to show movements in this picture of a cat jumping from house to house.

Chess

Do you know how to play chess? Well I do! I am good at it, but when I started to go to Enrich, I got even better! I learned new strategies, like tips on how to get the other player into check, and how to castle. Now I'm like the king of my family at chess!  I have moved up on the leader board at Enrich. I love Enrich CHESS!

Enrich

At Enrich today I did some workshops. My favourite workshop today was probably P4C.  P4C is Philosophy for Children.  In a P4C workshop the teacher give you a choice out of two things, for example would you choose Power? or Pleasure?  It was really hard to decide because I had to think about the bad things for each choice and the good things for each choice.  As a group we talked about all of the different things that could happen.  In the end I chose power, because you could still have friends and control people.

I also played chess, I was happy because I won.  I did a workshop about questioning as well.  I love it here at Enrich. I wish I could go every day but I can't. Anyway, I loved today!
